Electric cars are heavier and have instant torque, so they eat tires faster than gas cars, and a slightly-off alignment shows up as bald edges within months.   • Rotate more often than a gas car, because the drive wheels and the heavy end wear first

  • Set tire pressure for the load and for our heat, which pushes pressure up on hot pavement

How the price works

We check your warranty by VIN first. Tires are a wear item, but alignment problems that come from a factory defect can be covered, and we would rather you not pay for those. You get a written price for tires, rotation or alignment before we lift the car. Tax is on parts only, not labor. Choose the warranty on the work: 90 days, 1 year or 2 years.

Questions people ask

Why do EV tires wear out faster?
Three reasons. The battery makes the car much heavier than a gas car its size. The motor gives full torque instantly, which scrubs the tread every time you pull away. And the car is so quiet that you do not hear the wear until it is bad.
Do I really need EV-rated tires?
You need a tire with a load rating that matches the car, and on many EVs a normal tire does not have it. EV-specific tires also use stiffer construction and often a foam liner for noise. We show you the options and the price for each.
How often should I rotate?
More often than a gas car. Rotation evens out the wear between the drive wheels and the rest, and on an EV that difference is big. Ask us to check rotation each time you come in for anything else.
Can new tires change my range?
Yes. Tread pattern, rubber compound and rolling resistance all matter. A cheaper tire can cost a noticeable amount of range, and low pressure costs even more. We set pressure for the load and for Miami heat.
Is alignment different on an EV?
The process is the same, but the weight is not. The equipment has to handle the car, and the specs are tight because heavy cars punish small errors. Most drivers notice better steering feel right away.
