EV diagnostics that read every module

Get a straight answer about what is wrong with your EV and whether the factory still pays for it, before you spend anything. We read fault codes from every computer in the car, not just the ones a basic code reader sees, test the high-voltage system safely, and put the diagnosis and the price in writing.

EV diagnostics

  • Read fault codes and live data from every module: battery management, motor and inverter, charger, thermal system, brakes and body
  • Check high-voltage isolation, the source of most reduced power and service vehicle messages
  • Test the DC-to-DC converter, 12V system and charging hardware, the three most common sources of EV trouble
  • Inspect battery and motor cooling for leaks and weak pumps, a problem our heat makes worse
  • Look for water intrusion after flooded streets, in connectors, the charge port and under the car
  • Check factory warranty and open recalls by VIN before we recommend any repair
  • Explain the result in plain words and give you a written price for the fix

Signs you need this

  • A warning message you have never seen, or a turtle or reduced power symbol
  • The car will not go into drive or shuts off while driving
  • Charging stops early, is slower than it should be, or will not start
  • Range dropped suddenly instead of slowly
  • A new whine, hum or click from under the car
  • You drove through a flooded street and things have not been right since

Diagnosis starts with a warranty and recall lookup, because a fault the factory still covers should not cost you anything, and we will send you there. The diagnostic itself has a written price up front, and any repair gets its own written price before we begin. Tax applies to parts only. Pick your warranty on the repair: 90 days, 1 year or 2 years.

Questions people ask

Why does a regular code reader show nothing on my EV?
Most basic readers only talk to the engine computer, and an EV does not have one. The faults live in the battery, motor, charger and thermal modules. We use tools that read all of them.
What does reduced power or turtle mode mean?
The car found a fault it does not trust, so it limits power to protect the battery and motor. Common causes are a high-voltage isolation fault, an overheated battery, a weak 12V battery or a cooling problem. It is a stop-and-check message, not an ignore-it message.
Can you diagnose the high-voltage battery and motor?
Yes. We read their codes, check isolation and test cooling. If the fault is in a part the factory still covers, which is common for the battery and drive unit, we send you to the manufacturer. If not, we quote the fix.
I drove through a flooded street. Should I worry?
EVs are sealed well, but deep water can get into connectors, the charge port and low-mounted parts. If you see any warning after a flood, or the car smells or acts differently, have it checked before you plug it in.
Do you check for recalls?
Yes, every time. Recall repairs are done by the manufacturer at no charge no matter how old the car is, and we tell you if one is open on your VIN.
