  • Load test the battery and check the alternator output and starter draw
  • Replace the battery with the correct group size and cold cranking rating
  • Register the new battery with the car's computer on vehicles that require it
  • Clean corrosion off the terminals and cable ends and coat them
  • Check the hold-down bracket, since a loose battery fails early on rough roads
  • Test for a parasitic draw if the battery keeps going dead
  • Recycle the old battery

Testing comes first and you see the result. If you need a battery, the price is on paper before we install it, with tax only on the battery itself. The warranty length is yours to pick from 90 days, 1 year or 2 years, and it changes the number.

Questions people ask

Why do batteries die so fast in Miami?
Heat, not cold, is what kills a battery. Under-hood temperatures here cook the fluid inside and wear the plates. A battery that would last five years up north often lasts two to three here.
My battery is new and it still died. Why?
Either something is draining it while the car sits, or the alternator is not charging it. We test both before selling you another battery.
Do you need to program the battery?
On many newer cars, yes. The computer tracks battery age to control charging, and skipping the registration step can shorten the life of the new battery. We do it as part of the job when the car needs it.
Can I bring my own battery?
You can, and we will install it. The warranty on the battery itself then comes from wherever you bought it, and our warranty covers the installation work.
Should I disconnect the battery if the car sits for weeks?
If you are leaving a car parked for a month or more, a small maintenance charger is the better option. Disconnecting it works but can reset radio codes and learned settings on some cars.
