Suspension repair in North Miami

A quiet ride over the railroad crossings and a car that stays planted in a hard stop. We check every joint and bushing for play, test the shocks and struts, and replace what is worn with the alignment done after. Clunks, sways and bouncing get fixed at the source.

Suspension repair

  • Inspect shocks and struts for leaks and test for bounce and control
  • Check ball joints, tie rod ends, control arm bushings and sway bar links for play
  • Replace struts, coil springs and strut mounts as a matched assembly when it makes sense
  • Replace control arms, ball joints and bushings with quality parts
  • Look for broken springs, which are common on cars that live near salt air
  • Torque everything to spec and align the car afterward
  • Road test over rough pavement to confirm the noise is gone

Signs you need this

  • Clunking or knocking over bumps
  • The car keeps bouncing after a dip or a speed bump
  • The nose dives hard when braking
  • One corner sits lower than the others
  • Uneven or cupped tire wear
  • The steering feels loose or wandering

After the inspection, you get a written list of what is worn, what is urgent and what can wait, each priced separately so you can choose. Tax is charged only on the parts. Every repair line carries the warranty you select, 90 days, 1 year or 2 years, which changes what it costs.

Questions people ask

Should I replace shocks and struts in pairs?
Yes, always in pairs on the same axle. A new strut on one side and a worn one on the other makes the car handle unevenly and can affect braking in the wet.
How long do struts last in Miami?
Around 60,000 to 80,000 miles for most cars, but the potholes on 441 and the speed bumps in every parking lot here take a toll. If the car bounces more than once after a bump, they are done.
Is a clunk over bumps dangerous?
It depends on the part. A sway bar link is annoying but safe. A worn ball joint can separate and drop the wheel, which is a real emergency. We find out which one it is before you drive it much more.
Do I need an alignment after suspension work?
Any time a part that positions the wheel is replaced, yes. Struts, control arms, tie rods and ball joints all change the alignment when swapped. We do it as part of the job so the tires wear evenly.
Can you do suspension on a lowered car?
Yes. We work on stock and modified cars. If you have aftermarket coilovers or lowering springs, tell us when you book so we plan the parts and the alignment.
