South Florida heat is the biggest factor. Transmission fluid breaks down faster when it runs hot, and Broward cars sit in hot traffic for much of the year. Flooded streets are the other one. Driving through deep standing water can push water into a transmission or differential through its vent, and water turns the fluid milky. If you drove through a flooded street and now notice slipping or odd noises, have it checked soon.
