Performance transmissions in Plantation

A transmission built for the job you are really giving it. Add power, hook up a heavy trailer or swap in a different engine, like a GM LS V8, and a stock transmission ends up working past what it was built for. Every build starts with a conversation about the engine, the power, the weight and how you drive, then a written plan and price.

Performance transmissions

  • Performance builds matched to your power level and how you use the vehicle
  • Heavy-duty towing upgrades, from stronger internal parts to added cooling, when your setup needs them
  • LS swap transmission planning: which unit fits, how it bolts up and how an electronic transmission gets controlled
  • A torque converter chosen as part of the build to match the engine and how you drive
  • Shift firmness set to your taste, from firm and quick to smooth enough for every day
  • A written price before any work starts
  • Road test before you pick it up

Signs you need this

  • You added power and the transmission slips or shifts soft
  • You tow a boat, camper or trailer and the transmission runs hot
  • You are planning an LS swap and need a transmission that fits the plan
  • You want firmer shifts for the way you drive
  • A stock transmission already failed behind a modified engine

We plan the build with you, then give you a written price before any work starts. Sales tax is on parts only, never labor. You pick the warranty length, 90 days, 1 year or 2 years, and the written price shows your choice. Modifications can affect factory or extended warranty coverage, so check yours before you build.

Questions people ask

What transmission should I use for an LS swap?
It depends on your power level, the vehicle, whether you want an automatic or a manual and how you will control an electronic transmission. Common choices include GM automatics like the 4L60E, 4L80E and 6L80, but the right one depends on your build. The mounts, driveshaft length, cooler lines and speedometer signal need a plan too, so talk to us before you buy parts.
Can you make my truck's transmission better for towing?
Yes. Depending on the truck, a towing upgrade can include stronger internal parts, changes to how firmly it shifts and added cooling. What is worth doing depends on the truck and what you pull, and we tell you what makes sense and what does not.
Will a performance build make my transmission shift harder?
It can, and how firm it feels is part of the plan. Some people want firm, quick shifts. Others want a daily driver that still feels smooth. Tell us how you use the vehicle and we build to that.
Will modifications affect my warranty?
They can. Modifications can affect factory or extended warranty coverage, so read your contract or ask the warranty company before you build.
Can I keep my stock transmission if I add more power?
A stock transmission is built around stock power. Adding a lot more power without upgrading it often shortens its life. Plan the transmission as part of the build, not after it fails.
