Can a transmission slip because of low fluid?
Yes, and that is the best case. Low fluid means a leak. Fix the leak and top it off early, and the transmission may be fine.
Does Miami heat hurt transmissions?
Heat is the number one enemy of transmission fluid. Stop and go traffic on the Palmetto, plus the AC load, runs it hot and breaks it down faster. If you drive rideshare, have the fluid checked more often.
Should I add a transmission additive from the store?
We do not recommend it as a fix. It can hide the problem for a few days while the damage keeps going. Get it tested first.
