My brake pedal feels soft and goes down too far
A soft pedal means air, moisture, or a leak in the brake hydraulics, or a master cylinder that is failing inside. Your brakes may still work today but can get much worse without warning. This is one to stop driving and have towed in.

Does Miami humidity affect brake fluid?
Brake fluid soaks up moisture over time. Old fluid with water in it can boil when you brake hard and make the pedal soft. A fluid flush fixes that part.
Is a slightly soft pedal ever normal?
No. The pedal should feel firm and stop at the same spot every time. If it sinks, feels spongy, or you have to pump it, get it checked before you drive again.
