Pre-purchase inspection

  • Scan all modules for current, pending and recently cleared codes
  • Check for flood damage: silt under the carpet, corrosion on seat bolts and connectors, musty smell
  • Look for accident repair: paint thickness, panel gaps, frame and unibody welds
  • Inspect brakes, tires, suspension and steering on the lift and measure wear
  • Check for oil, coolant and transmission leaks and test the fluid condition
  • Test the AC, all electronics, windows, locks and lights
  • Road test for noises, shifting, pulling and vibration
  • Deliver a written report with photos and an estimate for anything it needs

How the price works

The inspection is a flat price we confirm in writing when you book, and it does not change based on what we find. The report is yours to take to the seller. If you buy the car and want us to fix anything on the list, that work gets its own written quote, with tax on parts only and a 90 day, 1 year or 2 year warranty you choose.

Questions people ask

How do I get the seller to bring the car to you?
Most private sellers and small dealers will meet you here if you are serious. Book a time, tell the seller the address, and we handle the rest. If a seller refuses any inspection, that tells you something.
Can you tell if a car was in a flood?
Usually, yes. Flood cars leave silt in places that never get cleaned, corrosion on unpainted bolts under the seats, and moisture in the light housings. Miami gets a lot of these after storm seasons, often with clean-looking titles.
Do you check the vehicle history report?
Bring one if you have it and we will compare it to what we see on the car. Reports miss a lot, so the physical inspection is what matters. We do not sell history reports.
What if the car has problems? Do I still pay for the inspection?
Yes, the inspection is the service. Finding a problem before you buy is exactly the point, and the report usually pays for itself in negotiation or in the car you did not buy.
Do you inspect cars for Uber and Lyft use?
A pre-purchase inspection tells you if the car is a good buy. The rideshare inspection is the separate form the platforms require after you own it. Many drivers do both, and we can schedule them together.
